Crews have been working longer days, and their progress can be seen throughout the corridor.
We started the month by paving the way to progress. A dual-paving operation along I-465 westbound is adding merging capacity for I-69 southbound traffic. The photos to the right show what I-465 westbound between I-69 and Allisonville looked like before the paving crews got in and after they completed their work.
In addition, added concrete will increase capacity along I-465 southbound. Southbound traffic will be moved to this portion of the road during the next phase of construction.
Along I-465 northbound, drivers can see the footprint widening with added concrete and retention walls. This will ultimately create added capacity for drivers along I-465 northbound/westbound.
The 82nd Street bridge is currently under construction and being widened. Drivers will notice the configuration of the entire junction of I-69 and 82nd Street is changing.

Upcoming Closures
As progress continues, drivers need to prepare for some closures late this week and next week:
Friday, June 2 – Saturday, June 3
- Corridor-wide pavement repairs along I-465 northbound and southbound from Friday around 9 p.m. through midday Sunday
Sunday, June 4 (12 a.m. to 8 a.m.)
- Intermittent short-term stoppages for utility work on I-465 eastbound/westbound just after the I-69 junction and on the I-69 southbound to I-465 westbound ramp
Monday, June 5 (3 a.m. to 3:30 a.m.)
- Short term closure of 82nd Street at I-69
Overnight Monday, June 5 – Thursday, June 8 (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.)
- Corridor-wide mobile cleaning operation to clear roadway debris

I-69 Finish Line Project Closures
Big traffic changes are coming to the southwest side of Indianapolis with I-69 Finish Line closures that begin late this week:
- Friday, June 2 – Wednesday, June 21: Eastbound lanes of I-465 will be closed between I-70 and I-65.
- Friday, July 7 – Saturday, July 29: Westbound lanes of I-465 will be closed between I-65 and I-70.
