INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 9, 2023) – Drivers need to prepare for a long-term ramp closure needed to accommodate Clear Path construction.

The 56th Street ramp to northbound I-465 is expected to close on or after Friday, January 13th. The closure is expected to begin in the evening after rush hour. Access from 56th Street to northbound Shadeland Avenue will remain open.

The long-term ramp closure is needed to help keep interstate traffic moving on I-465 during construction. It’s also needed to make room for work and equipment and to allow crews to safely work in the area.

The timing of the ramp closure could adjust, but drivers should be prepared for the change as early as Friday evening. The ramp closure was previously planned for mid-December, but it was postponed until after the holidays.

Emergency vehicle access will be maintained throughout the closure.
