Reminder: Ramp and lane restrictions scheduled this week on Clear Path corridor  

Overhead bridge work is scheduled this week on the Clear Path corridor in northeast Indianapolis and will require day and nighttime lane and ramp restrictions.

INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 18, 2025) – Overhead bridge work is scheduled this week on the Clear Path corridor in northeast Indianapolis and will require day and nighttime lane and ramp restrictions. 

The southbound I-69 ramp to southbound I-465 is scheduled to close overnight Tuesday, Aug. 19, and Wednesday, Aug. 20, to allow crews to safely complete the work. 

Overnight restrictions are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Here’s what drivers can expect: 

Monday, Aug. 18 

  • Mobile shoulder cleaning operation 

Tuesday, Aug. 19  

  • Southbound I-69 ramp to southbound I-465 closed 
  • 82nd Street ramp to southbound I-465 closed
  • Mobile shoulder cleaning operation 

Wednesday, Aug. 20 

  • Southbound I-69 ramp to southbound I-465 closed 
  • 82nd Street ramp to southbound I-465 closed 
  • Mobile shoulder cleaning operation 

Thursday, Aug. 21  

  • Mobile shoulder cleaning operation 

Friday, Aug. 22  

  • One lane open on eastbound/southbound I-465 from I-69 interchange to Fall Creek  
  • Single-lane closure on southbound I-69 ramp to southbound I-465 Mobile shoulder cleaning operation 

Daytime Closures on 71st Street and Trail 

Daytime closures are scheduled on 71st Street and adjacent trail next week as crews continue overhead work on the southbound I-465 bridge over 71st Street. As part of this work, East 71st Street and the adjacent trail are scheduled to close daily from Monday, Aug. 18 through Friday, Aug. 22 (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Drivers should utilize 75th Street as a detour.    

Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances occur. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time during overnight hours.

Indiana Safe Zones 

The Safe Zones speed control program remains active in the Clear Path construction zone. This program uses automated systems to monitor speeds in specified work zones. The goal of the program is to keep workers, drivers, and their passengers safe by reducing excessive speeding in work zones.
