INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 6, 2024) – As a reminder, there will be several significant ramp and lane closures this weekend to complete a traffic switch that will create a new traffic pattern on I-69 South. The restrictions are needed to move southbound I-69 traffic onto new bridges and pavement. The traffic shift is expected to be complete by Monday, Dec. 9 before the morning commute.
Once the traffic shift is complete, drivers will be on new pavement and new bridges on I-69 South and the 82nd Street ramps will be open. When traveling on the 82nd Street ramp to I-69 South, drivers will only have access to I-465 South. To get from I-69 South to southbound Binford Boulevard, drivers will need to be in the far-left lane of I-69 South before 96th Street.
Upcoming Weekend:
Friday, Dec. 6 through Monday, Dec. 9 (Expected to reopen by 6 a.m. Monday)
- I-69 South single lane open
- Ramp from 96th Street to I-69 South closed
- Ramp from 106th Street to I-69 SB closed (Starting at 11 p.m.)
- Ramp from I-69 South to I-465 South closed (Starting at 11 p.m. and expected to reopen Saturday, Dec. 7 around 12 p.m.)
Drivers should expect significant delays while traveling through the corridor during this work, prepare accordingly, and avoid distractions in the work zone.
