Ramp and lane closures needed to reopen 56th Street ramp

The ramp from westbound 56^th Street to northbound I-465 is expected to reopen Tuesday morning, Sept. 1. Crews opened additional lanes on northbound I-465 that allow space for the ramp to open.

Overnight ramp and lane closures are scheduled Monday night to perform the work needed to open the ramp.

Overnight Monday, Aug. 31 (9 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday)

• Exit ramp from northbound I-465 to 56^th Street/Shadeland Avenue (Exit 40) closed
• Ramps from 56^th Street to northbound Shadeland Avenue/I-465 closed
• Northbound Shadeland Avenue/56^th Street collector ramp reduced to one lane with no access to 56^th Street
• Northbound I-465 reduced to two lanes between Pendleton Pike and 56^th Street

Once the ramp opens, I-465 will be in its final configuration with at least four lanes open in each direction from the White River to Fall Creek. Some lane restrictions will be in place on northbound and westbound I-465 for noise barrier construction.

This work is weather dependent. Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances occur.
