I-465 reduced to one lane, Allisonville Rd. ramp to close this weekend

Crews to shift southbound lanes for future construction

INDIANAPOLIS (May 19, 2022) – Clear Path 465 crews are scheduled to restripe and shift southbound traffic this weekend to begin rebuilding and adding lanes to I-465. Drivers should expect long delays in the Castleton area and seek alternate routes.

Striping crews will reduce I-465 eastbound and southbound traffic to one lane starting after 9 p.m. Friday, weather permitting. The lane closures will extend from Allisonville Road to 56th Street and continue through the day on Saturday and Sunday. Eastbound I-465 drivers on the north side of Indianapolis should reduce their speed and be prepared for traffic to slow or stop suddenly as early as the Keystone Avenue interchange.

The weekend traffic pattern will temporarily close the Allisonville Road on-ramp to I-465 eastbound and reduce the on-ramp from I-69 southbound to I-465 southbound to one lane. All lanes of northbound and westbound I-465 are expected to remain open through the work zone with a reduced speed limit of 45 mph.

All lanes and ramps are expected to reopen by Sunday evening. Social media users are encouraged to follow Clear Path 465 on FacebookTwitter and Instagram for the latest traffic and project news.
