Clear Path Quarterly

Welcome to Clear Path Quarterly— your guide to the road ahead.

INDIANAPOLIS (June 19, 2025) – Progress on Clear Path 465 includes traffic pattern change this coming weekend. Drivers should expect significant lane and ramp closures on eastbound I-465 to accommodate continued construction.

Once the new traffic pattern is in place, drivers traveling on eastbound I-465 will need to choose between continuing east on I-465 or exiting to Allisonville Road earlier than previous traffic configurations. The new decision point will be at the White River bridge.

The following restrictions are scheduled:

Friday, June 20 (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.)

  • Westbound I-465 left lane closed from main interchange to the White River bridge

Friday, June 20 at 9 p.m. to Monday, June 23 at 6 a.m.

  • Keystone Avenue ramps to eastbound I-465 closed
  • Eastbound I-465 ramp to Allisonville Road closed
  • Eastbound I-465 ramp to northbound I-69 closed
  • Eastbound I-465 ramp to southbound Binford Boulevard closed
  • Eastbound I-465 reduced to one lane from White River to I-69

Saturday, June 21 (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.)

  • Northbound Binford Boulevard to northbound I-69 closed at 75th Street
  • Northbound I-465 ramp to northbound I-69 left lane closed
  • Northbound I-69 single lane open from main interchange to 82nd Street

Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances occur. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time.

The new traffic pattern signifies progress, allowing crews to work on new pavement, bridges and noise walls.

Crews have been hard at work this year, and their progress is visible on I-69 and I-465. From new pavement to bridge construction, here’s a look at the I-465/I-69 interchange from above.

Bridge construction is well underway over 71st Street, with completion expected by the end of the year.

A top focus this year is completing mainline I-465 and improving local access to and from I-69 and I-465.  By this fall, drivers can expect the following to open:

  • New bridge and ramp from northbound I-465 to northbound I-69
  • Two new bridges on eastbound I-465 at the I-69 interchange
  • New pavement on eastbound I-465

By the end of this year, drivers can expect full access to I-69, I-465, and Binford Boulevard from 82nd Street. Crews hope to open the ramp from 56th Street to northbound I-465 and the ramp from Allisonville Road to eastbound I-465 before the end of this year.

The Safe Zones speed control program remains active in the Clear Path construction zone. This program uses automated systems to monitor speeds in specified work zones. The goal of the program is to keep workers, drivers, and their passengers safe by reducing excessive speeding in work zones. It’s important to slow down in construction zones and drive without distractions. Learn more about Safe Zones at SafeZonesIN.com
