INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 13, 2025) – Clear Path 465 wrapped up 2024 with some major progress! The project closed out the year by opening several bridges, including the 82nd Street ramps, and put drivers onto new pavement along I-465.

As we look back on 2024, there’s a lot to celebrate. Crews opened nine of 14 new bridges to traffic, including several major bridges along I-465 westbound and I-69 southbound.
The opening of the 82nd Street ramps in December was a major step forward, easing traffic flow on local streets and allowing access to I-69 and I-465. As a reminder, the 82nd Street ramp to I-69 southbound still has limited access. Drivers using that ramp can access I-465 southbound, but not I-465 westbound or Binford Boulevard.

The recent traffic shift on I-465 southbound will allow crews to reconstruct previous travel lanes. As construction progresses, drivers should expect additional changes to traffic along the corridor. We’ll continue to keep you posted and you can always follow our progress at ClearPath465.com, Facebook, X, and Instagram.

As work continues, It’s important to plan ahead and allow extra travel time, especially during peak hours. Clear Path crews are working hard to manage traffic flow, but staying alert and aware of changing conditions is key. The Safe Zones speed control pilot program [safezonesin.com] is expected to go live this week in the Clear Path corridor. This program, authorized by the Indiana General Assembly during the 2023 Legislative session, uses automated systems to monitor speeds in work zones. The goal is to keep both drivers and construction crews safe by reducing excessive speeding in construction zones. Deployment will begin with a minimum 30-day pre-enforcement warning period, during which drivers will receive courtesy notices via mail if they exceed the posted speed limit by 11 mph or more.

It’s important to slow down in construction zones and drive without distractions. Remember to buckle up and put the phone down. It’s easy to join the movement at https://www.in.gov/indot/bupd/.
