Clear Path Quarterly

Welcome to Clear Path Quarterly— your guide to the road ahead.

It’s a clear view of progress! Three new bridges and new roadway are now open to traffic! Two new bridges on I-465 West and one bridge on I-69 North opened over the weekend.

The Clear Path project includes 14 new bridges and two rehabilitated bridges. Nine of those new bridges are already open to traffic! Four more are expected to open to traffic before the end of the year.

Crews will soon set beams for the new bridge from I-69 South to I-465 South. To get a closer look at recent project progress, watch our latest video here.

Our crews made lots of progress this summer including opening 71st Street under I-465 and the 71st Street Trail, providing essential links for local traffic and improving access for pedestrians and cyclists.

The I-69 northbound ramp to 82nd Street reopened just last month.

Drivers can now access 82nd Street when traveling from I-465 North to I-69 North. As a reminder, there is still no access to 82nd Street from Binford Boulevard or I-465 East. Learn more about the new traffic pattern here.

The ramps connecting I-69 South and 82nd Street are expected to open this winter.

As construction continues, drivers should prepare for ongoing changes to traffic patterns and potential delays. We encourage commuters to plan their routes ahead of time and allow extra travel time during peak hours. Clear Path crews are actively managing work zones and implementing traffic control measures to keep traffic moving as efficiently as possible.

Always be sure to slow down in construction zones and drive without distractions. Remember, buckle up, phone down. It’s easy to join the movement at https://www.in.gov/indot/bupd/.
