INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 26, 2025) – Multiple ramps, roads, and bridges are slated to open this year on the northeast side of Indianapolis as part of Clear Path 465. In 2025, drivers will see the completion of mainline I-465 and the majority of pavement replacement on I-69. The 2025 Clear Path Construction Guide outlines anticipated progress for the year.
Highlights in 2025 are expected to include the completion of mainline I-465 and full access to Binford Boulevard from the 82nd Street ramp to southbound I-69, as well as new bridges, ramps, and interchanges. Only intermittent lane and ramp restrictions on I-465 and I-69 are expected in 2026, with the majority of major construction activities wrapping up this year.
Scheduled to Open by Fall 2025
- New bridge and ramp from northbound I-465 to northbound I-69
- New pavement on eastbound I-465
- Full access to Binford Boulevard from 82nd Street ramp to southbound I-69
- Two new bridges on eastbound I-465 at the I-69 interchange
Open or Nearly Complete by late 2025
- Mainline I-465, excluding main I-69 interchange
- Ramp from eastbound I-465 to southbound Binford Boulevard
- Ramp from 56th Street to northbound I-465
- Ramp from Allisonville Road to eastbound I-465
- I-465 bridges over 71st Street
- 82nd Street and 96th Street interchanges to I-69
- Full access to I-69, I-465, and Binford Boulevard from 82nd Street
Project Schedule
The majority of major construction activities are expected to be complete in 2025 with additional work to be completed in 2026 under intermittent traffic restrictions.
Work on mainline I-465 is expected to be complete this year, and work on the reconfigured I-465/I-69 interchange is expected to be complete by late 2026, along with finishing touches on the project.
Work Zone Safety
The safety of construction crews and the traveling public is top priority for the Clear Path 465 project. Always remember to buckle up, put the phone down and reduce your speed through construction zones.
As a reminder, Indiana’s worksite speed control pilot program, known as Safe Zones, is currently active on I-465 and I-69 within the Clear Path work zone to improve safety for both workers and motorists. The pre-enforcement warning period is anticipated to continue through early spring. Always follow the posted 45 mph speed limit when traveling through the area.
