Clear Path Connection: Spring Cleaning Newsletter

Spring Cleaning

It’s time for spring cleaning, and highways aren’t exempt. Drivers will see single lane closures overnight Wednesday through Saturday this week to vacuum the dust and clear out large debris that’s been left along the corridor. This includes furniture, tires and the other odd items that have fallen from vehicles. Larger items will be picked up by hand and a sweeper truck will follow. Please remember that motorist safety is always priority, so secure your load to prevent items from falling into the road and creating a hazard for others.

Activity Ramping Up

Spring also means more daylight, warmer weather, and increased construction activity. Expect to see Clear Path crews working earlier in the morning and later into the evening to make as much progress as possible. Please stay alert along the corridor, slow down and watch for increased activity at all hours.

Paving Underway

This week, pavement is being placed along I-465 westbound between the I-69 southbound ramp and Allisonville Road. The pavement will add capacity for those merging onto I-465 westbound from I-69 southbound. Two lanes are being paved at once using a machine capable of dual-lane paving, pictured here.

82nd Street Lane Closures

Two long-term single lane closures begin this week on 82nd Street. The right lane of 82nd Street eastbound from west of the I-69 overpass to Shadeland Avenue and the right lane of 82nd Street westbound from Shadeland Avenue to west of the I-69 overpass closed Monday morning will remain closed for several months to accommodate bridge and utility work in the area.
