Clear Path crews are completing final improvements on 71st Street under I-465 and the bridges overhead. As a result, East 71st Street and the 71st Street trail are scheduled to close on or after Monday, June 1. The closure is expected to be in place for about two months.
During this time, crews will be painting, paving, and performing cleanup activities on 71st Street and the trail. Overhead bridge work is also planned.
The signed detour utilizes 75th Street.
Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen activities occur.
Indiana Safe Zones
The Safe Zones speed control program remains active in the Clear Path construction zone. This program uses automated systems to monitor speeds in specified work zones. The goal of the program is to keep workers, drivers, and their passengers safe by reducing excessive speeding in work zones.
